Energize with Kelly Milne from Plate28 | #ENERGIZE

It's finally spring and to celebrate the beginning of shorts weather we are starting our Energize, Refresh, and Renew series. For the month of April we will be featuring our favorite female fitness entrepreneurs to find out how they stay energized, balanced, and motivated.

This week we meet Kelly Milne, owner/trainer at Plate28, a 28 minute workout that uses Power Plates for whole body vibration training. On the Power Plate, your muscles contract at a rate of 30-50 times per second. This machine delivers unconscious movement creating natural reflexes within our bodies. Your muscles can’t help but contract when you are on the Power Plate. Muscle contractions = strength + toning.


What day to day activities do you do to help you feel energized?

Power Plate for my body and meditation for my mind. Power Plate is an amazing machine that helps me achieve maximum results in a short period of time. After 28 minutes on the Power Plate I feel energized, strong and ready to take on anything. I try to Meditate a few times a week to clear my head and stay focused. 

What is the importance of these activities for you?

If I miss a day on the Power Plate my body craves it, I need to feel the good vibrations everyday! Mediation is relatively new to me but is quickly becoming part of my routine.

How do you motivate others to welcome fitness and wellness into their lives?

We all have different fitness levels and interest. What works for me may not work for you. I encourage people find a workout or activity you like and make it your own. The only person you need to please is yourself.

What does balance look like for you?

For me a balanced life means creating time for the things I have to do as well as the things I like to do. Balance also means making time for friends and family , while remembering that in order to have balance in your relationships you must first have balance within yourself.

What is your favorite fitness or wellness tip to give?

Everything in moderation! You do not need to kill yourself working out or deprive yourself of things you love to be fit and well. Live your best life!
