Day 1
We are kicking off a really cool 8-day count up to one of our favorite days. Yes, it is a count up. Counting down can imply enduring something before getting what you really want. With this event, we are going to enjoy each and every day as we head to where we are going. And where are we headed? Glad you asked!
International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day (IWD) has been celebrated every March 8th, since its inception in 1975. It is a global event celebrating women’s countless acts of courage, reflects on the progress women have made and inspires us to reach beyond the boundaries. That sounds like our kind of day!
The theme for 2016 is a call for gender parity. In 2014, the World Economic Forum predicted global gender parity would be achieved in 2095. In 2015, that date was pushed back to 2133. While this news attempts to steal hope, we intend to rise above that.
Over the next 8 days, we will be highlighting 8 simple ways you can make a difference and be part of empowering women.
Make a Decision
And the first way is simple yet powerful. Make a decision to be a source of hope and encouragement to other women. Sisterhood must be our foundation. This long-term commitment to thoughts and actions leading to positive change for women and girls is a bond near and dear to our hearts.
We at Lifetherapy are committed to women and girls everywhere. We pledge to help women and girls achieve their ambitions and to value women and men’s contributions equally.
We aim to make a difference in the lives of everyday women through creative expression. If we can brighten one woman’s mood and encourage a positive thought that enables her to reach higher, then we consider that a huge success. You’re just that important to us!
